Hello community, as per the title, I have a small setup with 4 rooms where each one has a setup of different led strips. I want be able to control each room independently, using a remote in artnet from an MA3 lighting desk. I did create 4 different fixtures group. But not sure to understand the concept of layers and mapping, when i create a 4 layers with each layer map to a fixture group, how to change cue on one zone without affecting the other rooms? Also i understand you can only control by dmx only cues and not layers ?Thanks

Hi Mathieugoinsamy,

This will be difficult with one instance of MADRIX 5.
You could use designated layers for each of the rooms, but you are right: If you change the Storage Place, all the rooms/areas will change.
Now it depends a little bit on the effects if the transition is visible (e.g. you won't see a transition with static colors).
You can control the following layer functions properties/functions: Opacity, Chaser, Mix Mode, Filter and Submaster.

If it would be only two zones you could set the crossfader to the middle position (with white fade "WF") and use Deck A for one area and Deck B for another one.
Of course the effects need to be mapped to the correct area in that case.

This however only works with two areas, with four areas you might think about realizing the project using the "MADRIX AURA".
The AURA is a stand-alone recording and playback device. This would allow you to place one (or multiple) AURA device(s) in each room, which can be independently controlled remotely by the console.
Playback and recording is done via Art-Net or sACN, so you can either use MADRIX 5 or a console to record the scenes.
