how to 16-bit dimmer pixel?
how to 16-bit dimmer pixel?
i'm currently attempting to patch Portman P1 Mini in "Pixel Fine" mode and for the life of me I cannot find any information anywhere on how to set up a fixture that uses 16-bit dimmer. madrix fixture editor always assigns channel 1 as R, and channel 2 as G, which does not work for the purpose of my setup.

Hello steuned_,
Welcome to the MADRIX forum.
MADRIX is corrently working in 8bit mode with the colors. Of course you can emulate the coarse and fine channels if you will assign both channels the same color. In that case the value of both channels will be increased/decreased at the same time to get the full intensity output but it won't be a real 16bit resolution per color.
It is possible to implement the fixture definition in that way for you. Simply send an e-mail to info[at]madrix[dot]com

Re: how to 16-bit dimmer pixel?
so you're saying MADRIX is currently not capable of executing 16-bit dimming for fixtures that have it?
Re: how to 16-bit dimmer pixel?
Hello steuned_,
At the moment MADRIX is working with a native 8 Bit dimming of every color values.
It is not possible to control parameters of fixtures with real 16 Bit.
In your explained scenareo you can:
- Work with a 16 Bit mode at the fixtures and emulate it with MADRIX like explained in a post before.
- Change the mode of the fixture (if possible) to a native 8 Bit mode.
